This position is available to those wishing to live on or off site. A full season commitment is required from May 1st-November 10th.
On Site Living Includes: All housing, utilities, access to onsite laundry room and detergent, use of all property amenities (swimming, kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, hiking trails, tennis, volleyball, basketball) when not working or used by guests. WiFi is available and free, but limited to areas of service on property.
Salary: $650/week (living on site) or $750/wk (living off site)

We are looking for a full time Bakery Supervisor for our on-site bakery. Our bakery is in a separate room from our kitchen and it a full scratch bakery that produces yeast breads and rolls, quick breads such as muffins and scones, desserts for our restaurant/cafe/events, and some specialty cakes for weddings and orders. The Bakery Supervisor is a hands on position that does a majority of the baking themselves along with the bakery staff. They are responsible for creating prep and production lists for the bakery and ensuring that the items required for the day are produced on time for service. They work with the Kitchen Manager to determine needs for the restaurant such as hamburger buns and rolls and executing and creating desserts for each week’s menu. They report to the Kitchen Manager and then Director of Hospitality and will meet each week with both to go over the schedule of events and requirements for the week. There are a lot of existing recipes, but we welcome bakers to bring their own tested recipes and to be creative for restaurant dessert specials. This position is a 5 day work week with possibility for a few 6 day work weeks during July-Aug only (max 55 hours) and includes some night shifts working in the restaurant making pizzas and executing desserts. Shift meals are available when the restaurant is open and staff are able to take food from any buffet meals during shift after the guest meal concludes.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Managing and training bakery staff

Ability to read and execute various recipes

Basic baking experience ideally 1 year preferred in commercial and large batch baking to include yeast breads, quick breads, cookies and pastries, and cakes.

Experience or familiarity with commercial baking equipment such as floor mixers, countertop mixers, deck ovens, gas stove tops, proofing cabinets, etc.

Understanding how to scale recipes up and down to match volume demand

Ensuring standards for all baked goods are maintained

Maintaining bakery weekly inventory and coordinating Kitchen Manager for weekly needs

Following bakery schedule for needed items and volumes.

Maintain organization and cleanliness of all Bakery areas and equipment

Understanding of food safety. ServSafe certification a plus.

Works with Kitchen Manager to ensure daily production schedule matches planned menus and for catered events, cafe sales, and restaurant needs

Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in a commercial kitchen or bakery
